Yeah lol I learned that last part the hard way! Yesterday I put some stress coat stuff in and within seconds it was overflowing- it's still not totally calmed down yet. So.. I should just let the collection side keep filling up with water and emptying it and it'll fix itself? I just don't get it...

New bh-100 HOB Reef Octopus, and it foams well, but if I let it go to the top of the cup part it starts to fill up quickly and overflow. So now it only gunks up the tube leading to the cup part and the cup stays completely clear. Isn't it supposed to all go into the cup and not the tube? It's...

I don't want to have it covered but this protein skimmer is forcing me to do something. It's a Bh100 on a 20g and it splashes like crazy (also micro bubbles, anyone have a solution?), if I don't cover it my light gets soaked. That or hanging it, which is seeming like the better option at this...

I get a splash from my protein skimmer and I can't have my light over the tank without it getting drenched. Trying to grow corals eventually though so I don't want to lose light output. Sorry if this is a dumb question :confused:

I ended up with a small 20g tank because they were on sale and I'm a tightwad. I already had a Fluval 405 filter, got a bh100 Reef Octopus skimmer for $60 on craigslist (Score, right? But is causing me microbubbles), and some already cycled live rock and live sand. It's all set up and taunting...
