Just sharing some pics of my 150 mixed reef, sps dominated.
Messing around with a new cheap-o digital camera I picked up this weekend, and was quite happy with the photo quality the camera had for only a 70 dollar camera.

I'm running 14 k single ended metal halide bulbs right now and I'm looking at the reeflux 12k bulbs. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of 12 k bulbs or any good or bad experiences they could share.
I'm coming up on replacing my 3 250w single ended metal halide bulbs for my 150 gallon reef. Right now I am using the 14k coralvue bulbs. They are nice loooking, but after doing research, the par isn't that special.
I'm leaning towards the hamilton 14ks. Does anyone have any photos of these or...
Here is the situation, I QT, etc. Must've caught it off of someone elses system buying corals locally, etc. or it was just dormant in my system. I know the solution, hypo, fishless for 6 weeks etc, etc.
My question is this:
I have to go out of town twice for several days in the next month. I...
I have one of these, my question is this: what is its favorite food besides grazing? It doesn't like dried seaweed, it sometimes will grab a bite of meaty foods, mysis, squid, brine, etc... nothing that he goes crazy over yet though. any ideas?
So I have had a long tentacle plate coral for a almost two months. I'm a little upset at this point because I did what I thought was research online and this website and the doctors website both say "easy" and great for beginners. Now after reading the message boards I've found that this is not...
I have a yellow headed sleeper goby in quarentine right now. It has a 1/8 inch blotch of blood under his skin on his bottom lip. The really wierd part is there is a strip of blood in his cheek (1/4") that goes away and reappears every couple of hours.

I have a 150 gallon DT with a 49 gallon sump/fuge. The tank is going to be an SPS tank. Problem is I don't want to add SPS until after the six month mark.
My tank has been cycled for a month, what other corals should I get that won't take over the system ( I.E. shrooms or GSP) that will look...
Tanks parameters are as follows:
ammo : 0
trites: 0
trates: 20
p.h : 8.3-8.4
calcium: 480
alk: 1.6 milli equaivalents per liter
Calcium seems high, alkalinity seems a tad low.
I use oceanic salt. My question is this: In a new tank is something like this common? Or is there a way I can get it...
I'm planning on venturing out tonight and picking up a my first hardy corals for the tank. Besides the obvious temp acclimate and light acclimatation, I know it is wise to do an iodine dip on on corals to help rid parasites, etc.
Whats the best way to do an iodine dip?
Secondly, in what...
Is a brittle star hardy enough to add to a new tank as part of the original clean up crew after cycling, or is it best to wait until the tank is well established like the rest of the stars out there?
my 10 gallon QT is taking forever to cycle and my 150 gallon display has just finished. I'm using a small hang on back filtration system for the QT. My question is this:
When I do my first water change on the DT in the next day or two, can't I just use that water and have the cycle already...
I have a 150 thats going to be a primarily sps reef.
The fish I have in mind are as follows:
2 percula clowns
royal gramma
powder blue tang
purple tang
goby
My question is as follows: what order should I introduce these fish into the system in your opinion?
Thanks
Just a simple thought that I couldn't finish on my own. The pre filter on a mag drive, is this enough to filter out copepods from a fuge, or will they get through and back to the DT?
