I'm planning on going out of saltwater for a while and I plan on storing the live rock in a barrel with no water....my question is how do I save the sand.....Or is there a way I can use the sand for freshwater it will have guppies too fish and merits snails

I did a acid and bleach method on my rocks and now is curing in the tank with salt water and live sand with 1 to 2 bricks of frozen brine shrimp weekly...i test water on Sunday then do a water change....how long will the rock take to be live again i was told 6 months to a year...if that is true...

im glad i did the bleach method soak and then the acid approach my store never called to tell me they peppermint shrimp were in if you are not to advances with your rocks and get these critters i do suggest doing this here is the method i used...

i havent yet gotten any my local culligan water company put in a do it yourself thing where i can drive up and get my own without have to lift untill i get home i just wanted o make sure that for saltwater all i needed to do was just add the salt......AND then if i use RODI water for freshwater...

i want to switch to using rodi and saltwater mix salt instead of using boxed water for my saltwater tank. i know that top offs are done with ro or distilled water with no salt added....i just need to know what if anything i need to add to the rodi water for when i start mixing like replenish or...

Well I figured out my aipstasia come out at night or when the light is off will the completely covered tank for 6 weeks with a hob work

We use boxed water for the convenience and I have some coupons for it which I'm almost out of.when I am out I will get the premixed saltwater from the store that's 99 cents a gallon versus 9 bucks a box .....I also don't have the room for a mixing station and my basement is creepy......but thank...

I was just about to move my fish from that tank and it them into a 29 gallon that I just started with new sand and my good live rock....the water is boxed and ready made...the sand is live and instant cycling....it's a 3 month tank there is no algea in there and I plan on tossing the media...
