for some reason I can't seem to keep corals.....I have tried 3 of them so far, and they all keep dying. I have done everything correctly as far as I know of.....is there any secret? I dose with Iron, Calcium, Iodine, and Coral-Accel. the tank is at 78 degrees, and my bulbs (2 10K & 2 Atenics)...

does anyone have there tank on a battery backup? if so which part of the tank? I have been thinking about putting the main pump on one.

I finaly got my last 2 bulbs, now I have 2 10K 96W pc's and 2 03 blue atenic 96w bulbs, I have the blues on a separate timer........I know I'm supposed to have the blues come on 2 hours before, and shut off 2 hours after the 10k's, but do I shorten how long the 10k's are on, or do I lengthen how...

I put in a DSB a few months ago.........and the other day I was cleaning the glass and I stirred up the top layer a little on the edge and now it's like a small drop off.......shoul I be cleaning the top of the DSB? or should it be all packed together with some algae grwing in it?

I added a purple slug yesterday, and walked away from the tank for about an hour, and have not seen it since..........are they tasty treats for fish, crabs, or starfish? do they dissapear like that often? this is my first slug.............a friend of mine had one, and it was out all the time!
