    Frogspawn Question?

Those are sweeper tentacles. It has sensed it is in a different location and is extending the sweepers to determine if any rival corals are in proximity. If contact is made it will engage in 'warfare' with them utilizing the nematocyts (and most euphyllia's pack a punch in coral warfare). If...

Can 2 different color Favite brains encrust on the same rock next to eachother?

They may attack each other as the proximity between them diminishes. And if that happens it will probably be via sweeper tentacles rather than chemical warfare or encrustment.

    what are corals exactly?

They're not plants and are somewhat related to anemonies and jellyfish (perhaps belonging to the same phylum). Not all corals build calcium skeletons.

    sun corals

I feed many (not all) of the polyps if there is interconnecting tissue between them. Single sun coral polyps not connected to a colony are required to be individually fed. I feed mine primarily frozen mysis shrimp and target feed them one by one in the main tank. Initially, though, I did...

Is There One All-In-One Coral Food?

Your sun corals are not unrecoverable until tissue recession is complete (e.g. there is no orange left on any of the polyps). I recommend continuing with the attempt to get it to feed and keep it in the container (if that has been your method) for more than 10min (try 30-45min); or give it to a...

    LFS Fatalities

Rebounds are highly possible if provided their requirements are adequately provided for (e.g., appropriate lighting and water quality, etc). If they're accepting food, I'd recommend feeding them to accelerate their recovery.

    Stylophora - Green Questions?

It's a branching coral (though my frag has encrusted the plug it is attached to). It seems fairly hardy and is doing well under the T5 lighting I have it under. I probably squirt frozen cyclopeeze at it maybe once a month. Here's how it looked back in Feb 2008 when I first got it: And here it...

    LPS question

Fox coral (Nemanzophyllia) would be a good choice (they completely lack tentacles), though I'm not sure if your lighting is sufficient. Sun coral (tubastraea) is a completely non-photosynthetic LPS, so low light wouldn't be an issue, but it will require regular feeding to sustain it (with that...

    Blue xenia

Not clavularia (as I understand that coral), the polyps are too small in size and diameter , and the stalks are shorter (these blue polyps are no more than 7mm in diameter and the stalks are 5mm in length, max). If clavularia is available in this size, it could be it, though. But most...

    Blue xenia

I think I have some of this stuff. It's been referred to as 'blue xenia' and even 'blue anthelia' at the LFS. From my subsequent searches online, however, I think it is actually Sarcothelia edmondsoni. Not sure if what I have is what you're referring to, but here is a pic of it (adjacent to some...

does colour ever come back after bleaching out???

The color should come back. I had a bleached-out mushroom "hitchhiker" on some live rock I purchased. Not only did the mushroom's color come back (red with blue polkadots) but I've now got a good dozen of them.

    Sun Coral

Nice sun coral there! Seems healthy and well fed! In regards to feeding, anything smaller than cyclopeeze probably wouldn't be beneficial for this coral, they seem to enjoy larger food items (mysis shrimp is a good choice). Also, lighting shouldn't effect them one way or another.
