I would prob leave the feather duster alone. I don't think it is a good idea to pull it from the rock. Just make sure your water parameters are acceptable.

are you sure it is hard tube coco worm and not feather duster? I have two co-co worms (they are really beautiful) and feather dusters. In my experience, only feather dusters attached itself to the rock with transparent tube, co-co worm cannot produce transparent tube. (of course i may be wrong)...

Thanks, got scared there for a moment when I read a thread about buffering top off water. I guess I has been doing it right. One more question though, I have been adding calcium to the top off water to dose the tank slowly, should I stop doing that and just add calcium directly to the DT?

Do I need to buffer pH for the top off water I put in? Since I am using the RO/DI water, ph of the top off water is 7.0. Do I need to buffer pH to 8.3 before topping off? I have been topping off water without buffering pH. Thanks.
