    darth mauls

The first pic has brown/gray fringe with red highlights and the second has red fringe. On R-C the first is usually called satan's breath and the second Darth Maul. I know the first don't look anything like the pic on zoa-frag but that's just cause his pics are severly altered.

Nissan new 29 bio cube Diary

looking good! I never see any pics of that cool zoa you got from reef gardner (the single polyp you started a thread about whether to purchase or not). How's that frag doing? Show us a pic if it's still in there.

    GreenReefer's 24 gallon Aquapod

Yep they are deep water zoas from japan. Want a frag in your pack? I should be done fragging early this week and I'll send you a final list. Troy that's really hard to say every tank and frag are different. Maybe a month for a recently dragged price in a healthy tank

Start simple, you don't need all that crap

Well that's an overstatement if I ever saw one. Many people really like the looks of small tanks and this thread was to share my opinion/expierience with your average new person considering this hobby. For most people that aren't saltwater addicts yet time and money are their two biggest...

Start simple, you don't need all that crap

I understand what you guys are saying about larger tanks being more forgiving because of volume but I've had several friends and family get started with small tanks without issues, I think mainly because they can get into a consistent pattern of decent sized water changes. As soon as you start...

Start simple, you don't need all that crap

That's one of those things that's overkill for newbies with a small tank though. They should be able to pickup saltwater from their LFS. I 100% agree that they should be using RO DI water but buying all that equipment for a stater tank is kind of information overload and they probably not buy...

Start simple, you don't need all that crap

My suggestions for someone just starting this reef keeping habit...get out while you still can, jk Keep it simple to start with (and maybe even long term). Start small until you really figure out what you're doing because you're going to upgrade no matter what. Buy something like a biocube...
