    t-5s questions

T5s do have a color shift. How quickly they shift will depend on the type of bulb (manufacturer and spectrum), the ballast that's being used and, finally, the temperture of the bulbs are exposed to.

150W Mh retro and T5..too much?

150W Mh retro and T5..too much?

I'm currently using a 14k bulb (Pheonix). There are quite a few choices available but if you like a bluer look, you'll probably want to look at the bulbs that are in the 14k - 20k range.

    Our Ballast Supports VHOs?

Based on the description, that is a normal output (NO) ballast. Not sure what affect it will have on the ballast. Is it running hotter than it had previously?

    halide users, question for you

The Aquaconnects are on the expensive side and somewhat difficult to find but I liked them best of any 250w SE bulb I've used (for growth and color). Another bulb to look at is the Coralvue Reeflux 12k. Which ballast are you using? Your ballast might be better (PAR and color) with particular...

150W Mh retro and T5..too much?

You should be fine w/ 150w MH and 2 X 24w T5 actinics. I have the same setup over my 37 cube and it allows me to keep anything I want.

    Have a lighting Question

If the frag tank is going to be used to "grow out" frags, actinics aren't really going to help in the growing out process. In my frag tanks, I run 6700 and 10k bulbs to get the most growth.

What else is needed for my setup??

Dosing on a larger tank can become a pain so you might start thinking about adding a kalk reactor and/or a calcium reactor as your calcium demand grows.

    Have a lighting Question

Individual reflectors would work better. You might also consider replacing the actinic with a bulb that will give you more PAR. The actinic isn't really going to benefit any growth.

Ur suggestions on skimmer for 20L frag tank

reg WCs are always a good thing. I would think that any small skimmer, an air driven one or even a seaclone would just add to the WCs.

Ur suggestions on skimmer for 20L frag tank

An air driven skimmer would work. I still have a few that I use on occasion.

    Anyone useing Deltec MCE600???

I've used one on a smaller system (approx. 45g) and it did fine. Notwithstanding the manufacturers rating, I'd be hardpressed to recommend this on anything larger than about 60g - 75g total water volume, if the intent is to have a predominately SPS tank. You'll be emptying the small collection...

    Custom Sealife Balast?

Shouldn't be an issues as CSL used standard magnetic ballasts. You can find parts for them everywhere.

    lighting question

Any of those fixtures would do well with an SPS/clam dominate tank, even the 8 bulb T5 setup (as long as it had the individual reflectors).
