dude if you have your lights on for 12- 14 hrs a day thats your problem right there. i agree with the guy above. cut your lights back to 4-6 hrs a day and youll watch the hair algae dissapear.

i have a 180 gal. im looking to upgrade my lighting so i can grow some corals. im going with mh lights so would you use 3 175's 2 250's 2 400's or what ? how much of what would anyone reccomend?

love the list but i would change the eel to a fimbriated eel. that is a cool looking eel. my favorite is a hawiian dragon morey but that is for a speciman only tank.

i hate to say it dude but 34 gal is pretty small for an aggresive tank. i have a 180 in my wall and its still not big enough. the only thing i can think of for you is mabey a wrasse or two tops.

two days ago i put a baby zebra morey in my tank. hes about 6 inches and all curled up in the rock so i cant see him. when he gets hungry enough will he make himself visible ?
