    Hey, i got a bunch of different crabs and theyve been eating away at it. Red and blue crabs seem to be the most efficient eaters. So, try some crabs. I cant help you with the green algae, I've got a problem with that myself. If you find out how to clear that crap up, let me know please!!

    What makes algae?

    I've got a 20Gallon tank that's having some problems with algae. I've got crabs and snails, a skimmer, I do water changes, I've tested the water and everything comes back with acceptable numbers. Its not hair algae..its not bubble algae. Its just plain gross algae that is turning the rocks...

    So maybe I am just looking at the situation in the wrong way. Maybe these guys are just cleaning the rock and happen to be close to the xenia. They could be irritating it in the process of cleaning the rock.
