    Kaleidoscope zoas

These are a common morph that occurs between Eagle Eye/Whammin Watermellon and RDE under bright lighting. Unfortunately, they are short timers, and eventually morph back to the parental stock becoming Eagle Eye's or Whammin Watermellon. Hence they are not a true morph.

    Help with hair algae

Flow should be high enough to cause the skirts to wave, but not high enough to cause the zoas to close up.

    Enough Light For Zoa's?

I wouldn't however spend any money on the highend or collector zoas with that type of lighting.

    Fragging Zoas

I always try to get a piece of the rock from underneath the zoas that I am cutting out, so that when I superglue them to a new plug, I am not supergluing directly to the flesh, which can cause the zoas to melt.

    newbie about to buy zoas

Calcium isn't too important for zoas, although it should certainly be within the acceptable range. Alkalinity on the other hand can be extremely important, I recommend that you test for it.

Looking to see how many People have a top or topless tank!!!

I have both top and topless tanks; as others have said, it depends on what you're keeping in the tank.

uv - yes or no ?!!!!

Only thing I would add, is that in regards to the colonization of a new system, UV can considerably slow down the colonization of both beneficial bacteria and algaes (such as coralline) as the spores or bacteria cells do move/transfer through the water column. I wouldn't put a UV sterilizer on a...

    Concerned about new anemone

CUC has no direct impact on nitrate levels. Only things that affects nitrate levels are consumption by plants (hence the recommended use of macroalgaes in a refugium), bacteria conversion into nitrogen gas (occurs in anaerobic zone of a deep sandbed or in the deep areas of LR - Nitrate levels...

    couple of questions

Maybe yes, maybe no; we've done multiple sumps on multiple tank set-ups, with both acrylic and glass baffles - all were correctly cut and correctly installed. For every acrylic one that has stood up to the test of time over the years, we have another one that has failed. None of those done with...

    Dremel rotary tools

Personally for the larger/heavier LPS I would stay away from the cordless ones, they tend to bog down in a long cut. Also, if your going to be doing a fair amount, you're going to want a carbide cutterhead (not typically commercially avialable). As Robert said, most of the branching LPS can be...
