I've had a mandalin dragon for about a week. this morning I was watching him swim, he landed on a piece of coral and for no reason started secreting. I've heard this was dangerous, but the only thing that seems affected is my bubble tip anemone. Anyone know why he would secrete for no reason...

I got this nice (about 6" x 9") from a LFS that is usually high priced. It had some dead spots so they sold it to me cheap. It has since come alone nicely; although today I noticed some brown in places.

I went looking around today at stores and came across a used light. It was a 36" Current 4 x 39 watt. (only the 2 blue were working). Asked the owner what he wanted for it and he said $35. Went and bought 2 10,000k bulbs so for $75 I have 156 watt light. Is Current a decent brand? Also...

Interesting....I just called the store and talked to the owner, he said he can't imagine anyone calling this a difficult coral. He's sold over 500 and only lost one. Oh well as stated above, I will read more and consider this a $50 lesson

The LFS owner knew I was a "newbie" he should have told me. He said that lighting wasn't a biggie, but never told me the care level was difficult. Maybe I'll get lucky with this but everytime it starts to open, it closes. Maybe shut off the lights for the night and let it unstress?

yep! It was coming out and not much flow, so I stuck some tongs in to move my PH and before I could it retracted back faster than a dude in a cold shower
