It is definitely not a starfish. It may be a sponge as Midas suggested. But I don't have any sponges that look like this inside the tank. Only yellow ball and orange sponges. They don't move, but it does grow. Within a week's time from a small speak it will be at least 2 inches in...

The same thing happened to my T5's. I only had them for 3 weeks when 2 lights went out. It took almost 3 weeks for my new ballast to come in and install it. My corals did just fine during the waiting time.

Can someone let me know what this may possibly be? These lacey spiderweb looking things are in both of the side wells where the intake and outflow pipes are.

I have Florida live rock also. The same thing happened to me, it just appeared one day. I have noticed that it does move from rock to rock then disappears for days. I was also trying to figure out what it was, but never could get a decent picutre. Thanks for the info.
