I second that. The diamond goby was going to be my suggestion. I had the same problem and bought one of these. He is the hardest worker in the tank. Constantly turns sand over in tank to keep it very white and clean. Could almost guarantee he will keep your sand looking perfect. GL

This is very true... Some of them are regular algae eaters.. some are sand sifters and then of course there re these. I"m wondering if there is a way to distingueish which are which

I did the same thing. Took him out of the tank, re arranged the rock and then put him back in after a couple days. He is new to the enviroment and now the new guy. They are very protective over there rock work. Hopefully things will work out. gl
