I bought and installed a 5 stage RO unit yesterday. Came with a 3gl tank and takes 6-10 hours to fill the tank. I can get about 6 gl a day by taking in the AM and PM. Bought the unit from Lowes for $197.00. Good deal here or did I get riped?

What would be a safe timeframe to wait on doing a 10% water change in a 54gl without causing a cycle?. I OD'd buffer in the 54 and caused high pH and ALK. Doing 10% changes to lower - will this work or would I need to do a larger volume of change. I'd hate to have to recycle if it can be advoided.

for the 54gl corner. Sunday will be week 3 for being setup. I goofed on the pH though, its testing at 8.8. will baking soda lower this - nothing live in the tank cept for the sand. If baking sode will - how much should I use? and should it be premixed into some tank water or added dry? 2 days...
