    New Clove

I added some clove to my tank about a week or so ago. They stayed closed for a day or two, then opened fine, and looked really nice. The last couple days, I will see about half of them open, and sometimes the others, but never all at the same time. Is this normal? are they catching food and then...

    Surface Film

Thanks X, I am going to change salts, my 5 gal bucket of IO is almost gone, and I want to try something differant. So the Kent Liquid Calcium is no good? Is that what caused the film? I can't seem to get my Cal above 300. Will this cause any problems with, what little corals I have? Thanks Bob

    Sump Water Change????

I added a tee and a ball valve to my return pump. When it's time for a water change, I close the valve to the tank, and open the ball valve (with a short hose), and let the pump push the water into my bucket. After adding the new salt water, I let the pump just contune to run back into the sump...

Then removed it from the sump. That night, I noticed a white film on the surface of the water. When my new...

    Tank Over Feeding

I am in the process of tring to train myself to not over feed. I have cut back from twice a day, to daily feedings. My question is this; What about the dry seaweed that I hang on the clip? Does this add to the bio load like overfeeding can? I have one yellow tang, and would like to give her the...

What salt mix are you using

I'm still thinking some brands of salt mix are better than others for a reef tank. Do some have better Calcum, or trace elements not found in others? I have about two dozen zoo polps, and we just added a small cluster of clover. I would like to start getting into some more corals.

What salt mix are you using

My salt is not at all clumpy, I buy it in five gallon tubs and keep the lid on tight. It's also very dry air (what little we have) here in Colorado (34% right now). Can the phos. get through a RO filter?

The photos I found on the web are not quite the same, but I think you are right. Are they something I should worry about? Should I try to get them out of the DT and sump? Thanks Bob

    ID Help, sorry no photo

Sorry I don't have a good photo, I tried to down load one, but it was too large. Anyway, after setting up a sump with some cheato, I now have thousands of small white critters on my power heads and in the cheato. They are not pods, they are a bulb shape with a very small feeding fan on the end...
