The Guy at the LFS said they were a form of snail that doesnt move just excretes a moucus net to feed. Any way are they harmless, do I need to get rid of them before they irritate my other coral? Is there anything that feeds on these?

Im a newby and I've just bought my first coral (hammer) and two green chromis a week ago. Today I found what looks to be a starfish in the top right hand corner of my tank. I think it might have been attached to the hammer coral at the time of purchase. The pics I tried to take of it are crap...
