    Reef C e n t r a l GONE!!!!

FWIW... To the folks spreading rumors and making up quotes, it's pretty sad when you have to resort to lying to try and get members. Slander and libel are pretty serious things.

What kind of butterfly is this?

Aside from the entire setup being completely wrong. That's actually a Flagfin Angelfish! It gets to a foot long. I strongly urge you to return the fish.

    Help Please

Mix up a teaspoon of baking soda with a cup of RO water. Then over the course of an hour or so, slowly add the mixture. Check pH half way through, if you are raising it too quickly (more than .1pH per hour), postpone use, and readjust to accomodate. After then end of the hour, and cup of baking...

    Help Please

pH and Specific Gravity have very little corelation. You can have 1.026 and a pH of 7.5, you can also have 1.009sg and 8.3pH. Also, FWIW, you can use baking soda to raise pH in a pinch. However, I would work on adding aeration to your tank. Add a powerhead or two and aim them towards the...

    Is this a Scopas Tang?

Its actually a Scopas x Black hybrid. Though the hybrid does not command Black prices. Much cheaper actually, as they are often sold as regular Scopas. So if you paid scopas prices, you did good.

Well, the fish is going to some kid in CT. Let's see how long it lasts.

    mimic tangs...why do they mimic?

Because when younger, they share the same dietary needs as another type of fish (forgetting which ones, I want to say Damsels?) and the Damsels(?) would kill the tangs, so they mimic Angelfish, as the angelfish has a different diet than the Tang/Damsel(?)

Would you pay $1,500 for this?

Considering Eibli x Lemonpeel hybrids are very common in the wild, no way. The only thing companding this price is that the coloration is much, much more vibrant than other specimens brought in,.

I'd also treat the QT with Prazipro. In addition to feeding him anti-parasite medicated foods (Such as NLS Thera A+ pellets)

    Fake Plants?

My opinion, but the copper in liverock/silicone thing is WAY WAY blown out of proportion. Inverts and Corals are able to handle some amounts of copper, which specific level that is, depends on the individual specimen. I've had a couple different Leander shrimps that I've taken up to Seachem's...

I wouldn't worry about it. Chance of getting it is unlikely. However, if you do, Quinine Sulfate is one of the treatments.
