my thought was to have a seperate pump run the fuge so I could keep the waters a little calmer. I wanted to be able to have a sand bed in there, but wanted to keep the sand out of my pump.
so while I've been waiting on various things to arrive so I can actually have something besides tapwater in my tank, I've been playing with various designs for my DIY sump/fuge idea. Being a bit of a newbie to saltwater, I wanted some other opinions.
The tank is 210 gallons, the sump is being...

I dunno, I just stop and blither between posting links to pics.
Anyway, been a VERY frustrating week, I can't find a source for new filters for the...
I'm a newbie to saltwater, but I run a couple of the fx5's on other tanks (and love them), those filters are programed to shut off once a day and purge the air out of the system. Isn't that a problem in saltwater?
24wx30Hx72" long... my math puts that closer to 225 I think. but then its late. They called it a 210 in the add and I went with it. once the 120 gallon sump is under there, its kinda moot anyway I guess.
And so it begins... with frustration (isn't it always that way) I can't find anyone tonight to help me get it out of the back of my truck... and I'm resisting trying to do it all on my own. I've pulled crazier I'm sure, but I'm not in my 20's anymore.
and it even comes with a nice pile of...
and second, it seems obvious, but with the drilled holes in the tank, for the sump (theres 2 sets on the 210 gallon tank I got) I assume for each one, one is outlet, and the other is for a line to return the water to the tank after the pump?
ahh the joys of being a newbie again... since I've never actually looked at a skimmer hooked up before.... how exactly does one hook one up. I have a box of pumps and such, so I assume one is for this one.
Does it pump in from the bottom, the little hole in that line is for the airline, and...
Hey there... everything is home and all in one piece as far as I can tell...
Def. of frustration... fish tank that you want to start setting up... and no one who can help you get it out of the back of your truck...
I didn't see a place for newbies to say hi, so I thought I would say hi here.
Hopefully (barring the end of the world or some such excitement) I will be picking up a 210 gallon tank/stand and sump from a member here in NW Washington state this saturday. (at least I'm pretty sure this is the...
