How long do you run your lights? I reduced my lights in my nano from 14 hours to 8 hours a day and it got rid of the hair algae.

It happened to my friend's 100 gallon at about 3am. He didn't lose any fish and only about half the coral. It was very expensive having 75 gallons of salt water drain on his carpet.

Here's my Oceanic 144g half circle. Just started it 6 months ago so not much there.

Everything is pretty basic. Oceanic 144g glass tank with 2 built in overflows. Oceanic sump with a sock, G3, tetra pond UV light, and some LR. My return pump is Turbo Sea. There is three K4's and my lights are 48" Sunlight Supply Tek 6x54 watt.

Thanks for the info guys. My lfs told me that I didn't have to spot feed but I guess it couldn't hurt. Do I spot feed both or just the sun coral? Does anyone know the name of this sun coral and brain?

Well it's been about 3 days since I added the false percs in with my maroon and there is no sign of trouble. They are very happy tankmates at the moment. It's still a little early for the happy dance , but hopefully they continue to get along. I'll see if I can post some pics later today.

my tank is 144 gallons and my maroon has only been in for about a week. i also added 7 green green chromis to help distract the maroon.

I just added two false perculas in with my maroon. They have been going at it since i put them in. My yellow tang is doing a good job breaking up the fights but i hope they start to get along.

my betta eats frozen food but i think he actually prefers flakes. i also got him as part of the deal with my used tank. He is a very cool fish and not aggresive at all.
