    Duncan Help

Bought a 4 head colony about a month ago. Already have one head that has split so there are now 5 heads. There is the start of an entirely new head that I just noticed. They seem to be doing great. I have been reading that they will do even better if I feed them. I already target feed...

    Help with my Duncan

Just picked up a frag the other day. 29 gallon bio cube, stock lighting, and pump. The pump creates a ton of flow all over the tank, hard to avoid it. It is about mid-level, on a rock, gets lots of light and flow. It opened within an hour being acclimated and ate brine that same night. Only...

Whats the cheapest lighting i can get away with

I have a 29 gallon biocube. I have mushrooms, xenia, yellow leather, torch, duncans, green star poylps. I use the stock lighting that it came with and have had no problem. I have seen good growth on everything (except the duncans just added them this week). It has two 36 watt power compact...

Nano Reefers! Info and Tank Photos!

I used to have a 90 gallon reef but life has changed so I don't have time for one that large any more. I must say the 29 biocube has done me right so far. I use it pretty much as it came out of the box. I run calcium and trace elements and feed brine. Water change 5 gallons every month. So...

Nano Reefers! Info and Tank Photos!

I am not sure if that growth question was for me or not but I will answer it. I forgot to include that it is a 29 gallon biocube. The first coral added was the xenia and it has produced at least 4 frags that have been traded at a LFS. Next was the green polyps, they started as a small patch...

    help with cutting down coral

I am starting to have this as a problem as well...but here is my thought. Don't stress about it just frag them off. You can lift the mat of polyps and remove them and put them on a frag or plug and trade them or sell them at you LFS.

    Ever seen this happen??

I have what are best indentified as fuzzy mushrooms (red/purple glow green under actinic lighting). One of them was quite a bit larger than the rest on the rock and was covering them when fully open (almost 2 inches across). I decided I would try my hand at fragging this mushroom. I cut it...

How do I remove mushrooms from rock?

The best way to remove mushrooms is with a small razor knife (an exacto knife works best). Simply irritate the mushroom to make it close up and life the edges and cut at the base where it is holding onto the rock. The harder part is getting it to reattach. Cover the bottom of a small...
