Thank you. What about the little critters? If they happen to be young flatworms how do I get rid of them?

What I thought was a sponge is now...

So I have done more reading and I'm sure I have a sea squirt. Is this a bad thing? If so, how do you get rid of it? The site that I spotted it on showed tiny flatworms coming out of it. Now I'm worried.

What I thought was a sponge is now...

responding to light and has two "mouths". The mouths protrude, like a sun coral, but much smaller. I was happy when I thought it was an orange sponge Now that I take a closer look it is more sac-like. The sac is flesh colored, the mouths are orange-red with white stripes. I have seen a few...

What do you feed your tank?

Thanks everyone. When you feed your tank do you turn off your overflow or just shut down powerheads. What works best? I have a corner/overflow that flows down into my sump (in-sump protein skimmer). With 2 Koralia 4's and my return, there's quite a current in there.

What do you feed your tank?

I was reading up on marine snow, and seperate zooplankton and phytoplankton products. I was also looking up rotifers, for coco worms. I am new to reef keeping so I don't want to be sold 10 products when I really only need 4 or 5 total (corals and fish) I've had saltwater fish before, so i know...

    What are these? newfound hitchhiker

Just spotted this little guy again with my flashlight. Thank god he isn't hairy .....and he doesn't have black claws. I was able to get a better look at it and watch it for awhile. It is actually a dull green and was cleaning the rock. Oh please, let it be a "free" emerald!

    What are these? newfound hitchhiker

bump. I just spotted a small crab. He is very plain, brown in color. Just when I start planning the snails I want, now I'm worried this little bugger will make a snack out of them. I'll try again tomorrow to post pics.

    What are these? newfound hitchhiker

My tank has been running for a couple weeks with approx 90 lbs of already cured live rock. My ammonia, nitirites and nitrates have been at 0 for a week now. I had a slight increase in nitrites for a couple days but ,as mentioned, have dropped to zero. I have spotted a small bright green...

Maybe I'll "call" him on it. But, how much do I offer him? Because, really, I don't know how common that particular color is.

How common is the green closed brain?

My LFS has the green closed brain (that is very similar to), the bottom (2nd) picture in the saltwaterfish.com coral section. It is very fluoresent/neon green, very nice looking. He said he doesn't usually get ones like that, and that he would keep it for me until I am ready for it. It's about...

    What are the odds?...disappointed w/Koralia

So my 90g corner tank is finally ready to start up. I bring home 2 Koralia 4 that LFS just got in.......The first one doesn't even work. The other one ran for 24 hours before it died...wtf? Can I really trust that these things are going to work if I get another pair?
