Neowind, Emerald crabs will work great to get rid of the algae. I have a couple and they don't bother my critters at all. I noticed a window in the reflection of the tank, by any chance did your dad leave that open while you were gone...that would have accelerated the growth of algae :thinking:

I have a Green Brittle, and I think it's great, never had a problem. I do make sure that he is fed though to avoid any desires he might have to go after my other fish. But it makes a good addition to the tank.

Hello, I seemed to be having a "bleaching" effect to my corals. When I get them they have a pretty deep color, such as my leathers or candy cane, not the leathers are more pinkish and the candy canes are not as green. My current lighting is 4 96w PCs (2 White and 2 Actinic) on a 65 gallon tank...

Hello all, I'm having a hard time with trying to figure out why my corals are not hold their color very well... it seems that everything that I put in there starts to get bleached out.... my let set up is: 4 96watt Power Compacts (2 White, and 2 Actinic).... Tank size is 65 gallon. Any thoughts...

HNF2K, that's what it looks like on my SailFin also, but didn't want to confuse the description with ich. But it does have that look like a clump of salt.

Yea, Califlower would be a more accurate description...but I guess I'll just have to keep watching it...he's eating really well and doesn't really show any other problems, so I hope that it will pass soon. Thanks, that really helped hearing what it could even possibly be.

My SailFin tang has these white deposits on it's dorsal?? fins almost looks like salt has clumped in the area. I don't know how to better describe it. I do notice though that its in the area where the fins were split appart (i'm assuming from another fish attacking in the LFS). I'm not sure if...
