    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

Thanks for your input...I was so sad to see him go. I tested the water and everything was OK...never saw him harassed. The only thing I did think might be a possibility was I am battling aiptasia and thought perhaps he was getting stung more than other fish because of his style of movement...

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

Just an update, the tangs are gone, traded to the LFS for the most boring pajama cardinals. I hate them. They don't swim around. They don't even eat, no matter what I feed. Just hang in the water. And Scooter died. In spite of adding 1000 pods.

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

Yikes! Nothing like getting attacked when you're looking for some help on what is supposed to be a friendly site. My nail place has a huge tank. I will ask them if they will take these two.

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

They are probaby 4-5 inches long. I know they need a bigger tank and that is on the "wish list". My other tank now is only a 46 and it is already stocked and has a tang in it so they can't go there. For what it's worth, they seem happy and healthy, play with each other all the time.

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

I would be willing to try the HOB refugium. I don't think he is being harassed. I've never witnessed it and the same fish have been in there for quite some time, just him, a blue hippo tang, a yellow tang,a clown fish and CUC. In regards to the HOB refugium, any suggestions for a good one? I...

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

I will order some pods and restock and check after dark tonight, as I haven't checked lately. I do have a pod "breeding station" in the form of some filter media stuffed under some LR rubble. If its not too late for him :(

    Scooter Blenny stopped eating

I have had my scooter blenny for about 2 years in a 35 gal FOWLR tank. He has always eaten both frozen and pelleted foods well, as well as hunting the LR for pods. Lately, he has lost weight and just sits in one place most of the time and ignores the food at feedings. I don't see any obvious...

Getting rid of feather duster worms

I did know that they would starve and die, but not that they would be toxic. I will do my best to get them out when they have done their job. I was afraid to try the other methods for fear of polluting my water. I have two relatively small tanks and both have infestations. 35 and 45 gal tanks.

Getting rid of feather duster worms

In doing some research, I found that what I was calling "feather dusters" are actually aiptasia...I'm sure you don't want me sending you those!

Getting rid of feather duster worms

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you...in doing some research I found out that what I was referring to as "feather dusters" are actually Aiptasia. I'm sure you don't want me to send you those! No wonder I think they are ugly! I have ordered some Berghia to hopefully help control the...

Getting rid of feather duster worms

I don't mind them when they are small, but as the tank ages, they grow larger and I just find them unsightly and kind of creepy....not pretty like the ones you buy! I've never gotten different colors, like someone else posted, mine are always brown.

Getting rid of feather duster worms

I'm really not a fan of the feather duster worms that spontaneously grow out of the live rock. Is there a way to safely get rid of them?

bright green stuff?? growing in my sand bed

Yes, I have my own RO/DI system and no, I am not testing for TDS, didn't know about that one either! Yes this stuff is only growing on the sides where the natural light is coming in the window. I totally did away with the undergraval filter and now just have sand bed and HOB filtration and...

bright green stuff?? growing in my sand bed

I have put at least 20-30 narci snails and 5-6 cleaner clams, although when I feed lately, I don't notice many narci's coming to the surface and a couple of the clams have died since I initially stocked so I probably need to restock on sand sifting creatures....I completely restarted the tank...

bright green stuff?? growing in my sand bed

I will try that, thanks. I thought I was testing for everything, but don't have a phosphate test. I keep learning! I do use RO DI water, so if I'm thinking right, I shouldn't have phosphates, right?

bright green stuff?? growing in my sand bed

OK, I'm assuming this has got to be algae. I just don't know how upset I should be. The tank is in front of a window and this stuff is only growing on the sides where the sun hits it. It's really bright -like neon green. Not on the surface of the sand, but below the surface along the side of...
