    Calling on All Saltwaterfish Customers!!!

If I just placed a marine life order and selected priority shipping, what would be my estimated delivery? I understand that SWFish will notify me but I was just curious what some of the other members who have placed marine life orders have experienced. Thanks!!!

    Gcgrad's Update

Hey everyone! It has been a while since I have been on the forum. So I thought I would give an update of my 125 gallon tank. I currently have two percula clownfish, 1 royal gramma, 1 purple firefish goby, and 1 foxface rabbitfish. I unfortunately lost a lawn mower blenny a couple weeks ago. I'm...

    Butterfly in a reef?

I understand that butterfly fish in general are not considered reef safe. With that said I have read that the Orange Butterflyfish (Sunburst) is listed as reef with caution. Is this the most reef friendly butterfly out there? Just curious!

    Lighting Schedule

I just bought the 72" Aquatic Life T5 HO w/ LED Light Fixture. I will upgrade the bulbs to the ATI soon enough. But right now I'm thinking of running the actinics from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, whites from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, LEDs from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am, all lights off from 2:00 am to 8:00 am...

    McCosker's Flasher Wrasse

I plan to add a M/F pair of McCosker's Flasher Wrasses to my 125 at some point. Should I add them both at the same time? Or will it be easier to find separate individuals and add them at different times? In other words, is it difficult to find a male and female at the same time? Thanks!

    Snails Dying

I have 12 turbo snails in my 125. They did a great job of cleaning up the tank after the cycle completed. However, it looks like they are running out of food. 4 of them have died and I'm not quite sure what I should do. The water parameters are good. Salinity 1.025, pH 8.2, NH3 0, NO2 0, NO3 5...

    Wrasses!!!

I have been recently researching some wrasses. Right now I'm leaning towards the yellow canary wrasse and melanurus fairy wrasse. For a 125 gallon tank, should I be worried about these wrasses being aggressive towards each other? Open to other wrasse suggestions!

    Pistols Killing Fish

I've been reading several posts and it seems some people have had problems with pistols killing fish. Some mention killing firefish and damaging chromis. I was wanting to have a pistol and yellow watchman goby in my 125. Is this type of behavior from a pistol common? Is this behavior less likely...

    125 Gallon Stocklist

Most of you have probably seen me lighting up the New Hobbyist Thread with my current build. But with my tank coming along nicely, I have started thinking about my fish. As the title indicates it is a 125 gallon tank (72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 23 3/8). Figured this was the right thread to post this...

To drill or not to drill?

I recently picked up a 30 gallon tank off craigslist. I plan to use it as a sump and would like to drill it. However I do not know who the manufacturer is so I can't make sure that its not tempered glass. Should I just take the chance and drill it anyway or would this be ill-advised? Thanks

    Officially joined the hobby today!!!

Today I made my first purchase in the SW hobby (other than books). I bought a 30 gallon tank off craigslist and plan on using it as a sump/refugium. The next purchase will probably be the baffles and 100% silicone. I have been researching the hobby for a couple years now and have finally made...

    Type of Sand?

Hey everybody! I was watching some videos on youtube and came across an aquarium that had arag-alive Hawaiian black sand. I had not heard of it before but thought it looked cool. I'm trying to figure out what type of sand I would like for my tank in the future. Is anyone familiar with this type...

    Advice for equipment!

Right now I'm planning on a 55 gallon FOWLR system. I'm getting a free tank from someone who has given up on fish-keeping. At the moment I am looking at some of my first few purchases as far as equipment goes. I have found a AquaC Remora Protein Skimmer w/ Drain & Maxi Jet 1200 for about $180, a...

    New to the hobby!

Hello all, I have just recently joined the forum and am very interested in the hobby. I have been reading several books that deal with saltwater aquariums for a while now but have not had my own aquarium. I will be acquiring a 55 gallon tank from my sister who was a former hobbyist. Over the...
