    Wrasses in a 12 gallon?

You could get a yellow or a 6-line wrasse since they both stay small. 6-line wrasses tend to be hardier - I had one in a 15G for ages and it did fine.

    Mixing wrasses

Thanks for the advice. My instinct told me that it probably wasn't a good idea. I won't be getting one. I'll maybe add something else instead. Thanks.

    Mixing wrasses

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera so a picture will be difficult - I'll try and take one on my phone and see if it's decent enough to make it out. To answer your questions....he's a cave sleeper, the substrate is sand but I've never seen him burrow in it. He's been in...

    Mixing wrasses

I already have a wrasse, not entirely sure what kind though. It's about the size of a yellow but is orange with red stripes down its body. Is it possible to also add a 6-line in a 46G tank or would they fight?

    Chocolate chip starfish...again...sorry.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep an eye on it to keep track of what it's nibbling at. One of the things I enjoy with my tank is finding new stuff on the LR. I hated the idea of it all being eaten by my CC star.

    Chocolate chip starfish...again...sorry.

I did a search yesterday and read loads about these guys eating all the stuff off of the live rock and snails and the like. I bought one recently knowing they're not reef safe since I have a FOWLR. I don't mind if the little guy occassionaly has a little snack but, if it's gonna devour all the...

    False percs

Thanks for the responses. I'll try a search to get more info.

    royal/false gramma suggestions please!

I think jumpfrog hit the nail on the head with behaviour...won't bully anyone but will stand its ground. I recently added one and, even though the lights were off, my cherub angel was giving it loads of sh*t. The royal gramma stood its ground and by the next day, they didn't even look at each...

    False percs

I just bought a pair of really cute false percs. I took a chance and got them from different tanks in the store, brought them home, acclimatised them and added them at exactly the same time....they've been almost inseperable since they were added. Just curious. I've read about clowns spawning in...

    chocolate chip starfish

Sorry to butt in on the thread but.......how often should they be fed. I've read about once a week but.....If it is only once a week, how much should they be fed. I'd like to buy one but don't know much about them.

    multiple clowns?

Having fish that seem so peaceful simply means that you have done a good job in introducing them in the right order. Don't make the mistake that many do, myself included, and assume that a a fish that looks peaceful will remain so when one of a similar kind is added. I have seen war erupt in my...

    To Timsedwards.

Hi, There don't seem to be many Brits on here so I thought I'd say hi. I know this isn't a chatboard but I do have a question relevant to the hobby so......you mentioned in a recent post about LR being expensive in England. I'm currently living in Japan and am curious about how much it is in...

LQQKING 4 6 line wrasse PICS...

Can you mix wrasses? I have a wrasse similar to a yellow (it's orange with pinkish stripes). Is is possible to add a six-line?

Tangs in "small" tanks pt. 2.

NM Reef. There is no way I could read your post and not respond. Thank you. Damn, a little bit of honesty goes a long way. You responded to my post, and then, you added a little bit of sugar on top. OK, now, I'll get my tongue out......... Seriously, from a shark, your post has my admiration...

    Any suggestions???

Since I bought him from a different store, which closed down - not because it was a bad store - I offered it to him for free from the beginning. He said that he didn't want it since he would have trouble shifting it. I was in the store today and got chatting to a customer who I repeatedly...

    Any suggestions???

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm starting to consider the idea of a couple of small fish instead of one big one. I'll just have to keep a close eye on that maroon.

Tangs in "small" tanks pt. 2.

Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming but PLEASE READ MY POST. I asked people to post their experiences. I did NOT ask if I should keep a tang in a 46G tank.

    Tangs in "small" tanks.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, a poll would be interesting. I've never started one - what would be a good question to ask for a poll of this kind? Yeah, I guess if you think in % terms, the difference is significant. If you look in Fenner's book, p. 304, he says: "....yellow and hippo tangs can...

What do you do when your away for a few days?

Do you have any live rock? I'm sure your tang will be fine grazing on that for a couple of days. If your mom is going to be feeding him anyway, I really wouldn't worry. Just make sure she knows not to feed too much.

Tangs in "small" tanks pt. 2.

I would really like to get a tang for my 46G tank. I won't get one, however, if I believe the fish will not be happy. I would be really grateful if people would post their experiences with tangs in similar size tanks. Good or bad. Thanks.
