I am adding a smartligth retrofit kit to my existing smartlight PC hood. The existing hood has the on/off switch wire in after the ac plu and before the ballast. The retrofit kit instrustions have the switch wired between the ballast and the lamp. Anyone with any theories on how to best do this.

there has to be a reason people. Why are we paying 3 times as much for the same hardware. when i can buy a 175W grow light and a $50 10k bulb, and have a MH system for $185.

do you guys medicate your QT. if so how much? and how long is the minimum to hold new fish. What about live rock and live sand, isn't it possible for live sand to hold parasites, how do you quarantine sand. I'm just anal I guess

I noticed that my glass top gets salty and blocks/reflects a lot of light. I would like to go without it but I think that I would loose alot more water due to evaporation. what do you guys do?

I was shopping around on the internet for a 175watt MH, and noticed that MH grow lights are about $150, compaired to $300 for aqaurium lights. The bulbs of aqaurium lights may add some cost but the electronics have to be very similar. Anyone know why such a difference in price. And can I go...
