I've seen 2 peanut worms in the tank before, but never saw the "proboscis". When I looked up images online, the peanut worm proboscis looked a bit like a feather duster, where this is smooth. It doesn't really move at all once it's out. Thanks for your input!

Thanks B.G. Wow, you're good. I added a few zoas last week, but they are on other rocks with no sign of the whitening. Maybe some toxins got into the water? Sorry I was too general on the water parameters. I will test again and provide the actual data. As a reef newbie, I appreciate the help.

I recently purchased some live rock from an established tank and noticed 5-10 of these little guys. I think they are strawberry anenomies. The info. I'm getting is a bit conflicting as to whether I should try to remove/kill them or not. Suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
