I'm in the process of setting up a 120 gallon reef and I do not want to buy all live sand for the tank. I was thinking of using some live sand from my current 30 gallon tank to seed play sand or something similar. What brands of play sand are aquarium safe? I am planning on purchasing the sand...

How about dual 14k 175 MHs with dual 55 watt PCs (in one light hood) and 220 watts of VHOs (48" 110 on each side)? I have the Icecap for the VHOs and I just found a deal on the other light hood. I don't want to skimp but my wife is trying to keep me on a budget!

It doesn't leak and there are no scratches that I'm aware of. I got the tank from a friend who had it setup less than a week and I have never set it up. I'm trying to make room for a 120 gallon and that is the reason I am selling it. I will check tonight to see if I have any lights that will fit...

I have owned this skimmer for about a year and I still haven't managed to get it dialed in exactly right. I agree that it is junk but I'm in the same boat as you right now about upgrading. I would try emptying the collection cup and then adjust the knob to around 50% flow and see how it does...

I'm not sure how much room is needed for an Urchin but I am looking into it as well. I plan on putting my heater at the return end of the sump. I have a Kent Nautilus skimmer from my old 100 gallon tank but it is way to big to fit in my sump so I'm going to sell it and pick up a new smaller skimmer.

I used a small powerhead and blew the salt out shortly after posting this last night and the anemone looks much better today!
