    Another Sponge Pic

I know. I'm keeping it off the sponge until I can eradicate it completely. What is a good red slime remover? Does this site sell it?

Sorry, but I had to post this. It seems that it's love at first sight. (Please excuse the red slime algae, I'm working on it).

    Sponge

So, plum, what do you feed them? DT's like some have suggested?

Wow. That's a lot of sponges. Great color. I also like the nudibranch.

    Sponge

Thanks for the advice, Jon. I was very nervous when introducing it. Kickster, do you mean what do I feed the apple? Every 3 days I dose 2 teaspoons of Coralife Invertebrate Smorgasbord. Would the sponge benefit from that at all?

    Sponge

Nope, no corals at all. It is strictly an invertebrate tank for right now. I guess the sea apple would come closest to enjoying DT's. Here's my list of inhabitants: sponge, coral banded shrimp, sea apple, orange linckia star, cucumber, fighting conch, and various hermits Every 3 days I dose 2...

    Sponge

Kickster -- I have it in somewhat of a shaded area (under a rock overhang). If I don't feed DT's, will it be okay? I've never heard of feeding a sponge. I don't have anything else in the tank that would benefit from phytoplankton right now so I hate to feed just the sponge, especially if it...

What kind of sponges are they? Are they difficult to care for?

Just thought I'd share my newest addition. It's a finger sponge. What do you think?

    Overflow Options

Stay away from CPR overflows! Unless, of course, you want to buy mine. :) You can easily regulate flow by putting a ball valve in line.

    Skimmer for 10 gallon

Thanks, everyone. I'm going to try it and see.

    Skimmer for 10 gallon

So, Broomer, you're saying that the Bak Pak would hang down past the tank? I have it sitting on a stand that sticks out about half an inch on the back. That is, the stand extends .5" farther than the tank. This shouldn't be a problem, should it? Also, how far does it stick up past the top of...

    Skimmer for 10 gallon

Broomer, How often do you change water on your 10?

    Skimmer for 10 gallon

I like the price of the SeaClone. I can't tell from the pictures I've seen though: how does the water return to the tank? Is there any kind of drop from the skimmer to the tank? I ask because I don't have a glass top between the water and lights and I'm very careful about splash.

    lowering high nitrites

You can change more than 10% of the water at a time. Try more like 50-75%.

    Skimmer for 10 gallon

I just started a nano reef and am looking for an HOB skimmer. I was thinking about getting the CPR Bak Pak 2R. I've read nothing but good reviews about it, mostly on this board. But I'm afraid it will be too large for a ten gallon tank, both aesthetically and flow-wise. I already have two...

    Palloo Rock?

They did have 1/3 of a 75 gallon tank full of the stuff. It was amazing. I wish I had the money to buy a lot of it. Does anyone know if it can be bought online?

    Palloo Rock?

At $13.99/lb it should be gorgeous. I bought one pound. I think I'll stock the rest of my 10 gallon nano with this rock. It will be a couple of paychecks later, though.

    Palloo Rock?

Has anyone ever heard of it? I just bought a small piece from the lfs today. Really great looking rock. Every piece they had was covered in purple coralline. Here's a picture. The Palloo (I'm not sure how it's spelled) is on the far right.
