    Cycling Damsels! MUST READ

Someone had posted up a few posts that damsels are mean, shouldnt be kept with other fish etc... What i have read, and found, is that to be the complete opposite. I have read that due to them being territorial, you really shouldnt have more then one. I bought a blue damsel to cycle my tank. The...

    OT: Amazon Parrots

Do a LOT of research on the particular bird that you are going to get. Each subspecies is different and had different personalities. DONT buy from a petstore!!! Buy from a breeder...you will save money and you can see the environment that it spent its first weeks in. Many breeders will sell you...

If you ask a question, and truly are interested in a response, best to listen to what the seasoned pros have to say. I wouldnt recommend to anyone that doesnt know much about fish to...

i THINK I JUST MADE A HUGE MISTAKE

Just another thought...I always check all my readings BEFORE I put something else in. And then check again in 24 hours to see how they are doing... Remember most sins can be fixed by water changes :)

i THINK I JUST MADE A HUGE MISTAKE

Im new enough to salwater tanks, but from what I have read 1.023 is ideal...however, anything from 1.021 to 1.025 is fine. I have to add water once a week, and it is usually about 1.025-.026 when I do.

    HELP ASAP..WHOLE TANK DYING

I have a 29 gallon tank. I changed about 5 gallons and tested for ammonia (which was at 0 when i tested this am) it was at 8!!! (Not good) I put the fresh water in there, and put in some ammonolock. Clown fish is a bit happier, and although still fairly low in the tank, he seems to be moving...

About three weeks ago I got a coral banded shrimp to add to my tank. he was doing fine and lost a banded leg. I did some research and learned it would grow back. Sick Anenome HELPPPPP

I'll be honest, I have no idea what kind of anenome he is. She had him in a tank with crushed shell, and he was/ and is now doing fine. He is white, with lots of tentacles with small purple dots on the end of the tentacles. Coming out form the bottom looks like a stump or a mushroom stem. (I...

    live rock

in re of pound per gallon...sounds excessive..I have 20 pounds in my 55 gallon tank and have had no problems cycling.

    live rock

Live rock is beneficial in that it has micro-organisms and bacteria in it, which help to cycle your tank. While I have been told that it is beneficial, especially when starting a new tank, id think that you could have the same effect by throwing a damsel in a new tank and waiting a few weeks...

    Coral Banded Shrimp w/missing leg

My coral banded shrimp lost one of his legs...which I was told is okay, because he will grow one back... On one of his sides he has a black mark..almost as if a child had taken a marker and drew a squiggly circle on him. He is eating fine, walking around fine..etc The black mark is on th...

    Sick Anenome HELPPPPP

Last week I bought an anenome and a clown fish to add to my tank. I put them both in my 10 gallon, as I do with all my new friends to be sure they are "safe" before I add them to my 29 gallon tank. The first day I got the anenome he was fine. The next morning I woke up and he was gray and...
