    HQI distance from Acrylic tank?

    I'm building my canopy for my 180g acrylic, it will have 3 - 250W HQI fixtures, and 2 - 72" VHO actinics. How far from the Acrylic tank top do I need to have the HQI fixtures? I don't want to melt or warp anything, but also don't want to sacrifice too much of the HQI power. Thanks

    Euroreef lists the recommended tank size for this skimmer to be 125G, While ASM G3 (Virtually the same skimmer) is rated for up to 225G. I already own the Euroreef CS6-2+ from my 90Gal, will it be able to handle the 180Gal?

    I built my stand, and polyurethaned all the wood (including the plywood the tank will sit on). Will the chemicals (solvents) in the polyurethane have any long-term effect on the bottom of the acrylic tank?

    Bottom drilled return holes?

    In tanks with the return holes drilled in the bottom, how do you prevent flooding in a power outage? Can you put a check valve in the line or will a check valve restrict flow when the pump is on?
