Hi One more thing...try to use RO/DI water and cut down on feeding. this will limit the nutrients the red algae needs. Also I had some conchs (fighting,Queen) from Flying fish Express that were excellent red algae eaters.

Hi I think the the instructions for the chem-clean included shutting off the venturi (if you have a CPR) If you don't have a venturi tube just shut the skimmer off.

Hi I have started getting seawater from my local city aquarium. It is coming start from their display tanks and has been filtered and UVed. Really cheap at 5 cents a gallon. See if your local aquarium has a similiar program.

Hi get yourself a fighting or queen conch. they are the best. Most of my crabs stay on the rocks and the snail on the glass. the conch stays on the sand and does a good job of stirring up the sand and even ate a patch of red slime I had.

Hi I had the same problem with the canopy lid lifting supports. I started out with brass since that was all i could find but they soon became rusting. I finally found some stainless steel ones and they work a lot better. Have fun
