Maybe this doesn't happen as much in a big tank, but I may actually have too much LR. With each piece of coral I purchase, it usually comes on a or with a rock. As we have added and added pieces - slowly but surely - we are slowly running out of room in our 54 gallon! I suppose I could break...

Does this stuff really work? I've got about 0.8 phosphates and I'm getting a little worried. I bought the SeaChem Phosphate sponge and it's been in there about 12 hours. I'll yank it out at 24. Will this stuff really lower phosphates? I probably need to switch to RO water and not have to...

Will a Copperband destroy a reef? I've read that it'll nip at feather dusters and the sort, but what about polyps, leathers, etc? Anyone with experience would be helpful! Thanks!

Hey, about 2 weeks ago, I posted a question here as to how to rid myself of some serious hair algae. I had a phosphate hit that was probably providing all the nutrients to the algae for growth. Well, I took out about 1/2 of my LR, scrubbed it with a toothbrush and rinsed with make-up water...

Ok, so what fish really works to control algae? I just spend the good part of my birthday afternoon scraping off hair algae from LR with a toothbrush! Is there truly a fish that will eat algae and eat it consistently? :notsure: I'm looking at a sailfin or a cole tang. Let me know!

Anyone got any suggestions to rid myself of this horrible hair algae. I think I had some phosphate problems after the soap incident (go figure) but after some major water changes, it's under control, but I've got a ton of hair algae everywhere. Other than more hermits, more snails, etc . . ...
