I tested my pH about an hour ago and it measuerd 8.4 I was wondering if this is a serious thing because I know 8.2 is normal so this isn't way high. The reason I ask is because I have some pH down and the directions say to add 2 drops per gallon and I have a 40gal. tank, I don't know I guess...

I have a 40gal. with 140 watt lights all together. My question is will this dramatically affect the temp. of the water. I have the temp set at 77F and the heater looks like it is not in use, like the water is warmer than 77. What do you think?

For my new tank coming in I plan on having some peppermint shimp but have some questions. 1:Are they the same as candy shrimp? 2: Do they have red and white stripes on them? 3:Are they good cleaners? 4: I heard they get along together maybe three or four? Any answers would be appreciated thanx:)

I have a tank ordered from my lfs that is coming in friday I wanted to know how many fish I should have. I already plan on having three green chromis( one being transferred from my dad's tank.) I also plan on not having any large fish. Any suggestions, Thanx.:)
