Be careful of the green brittle starfish. I had a large one in my 180 gal. fish only tank and I had to lure him out. He was eating the cleaning crew and I witnessed him drag a sand-shifting starfish into a cave -- not pretty.
Can anyone identify this critter? I think that it's some type of sponge. I spotted it underneath a piece of rock in my reef tank. The specimen is about 1.5 inches from top to bottom. It does not move. Thanks.
Check this website out. I had the identical problem and the Durso standpipe was the answer. Good luck. jd

Am thinking of introducing a Bluechin and a Crosshatch trigger to my reef tank (270 gal.). Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this is a good idea? Thanks, jd
An excellent store for SW NE Ohio is The Salty Critter, located in Vermilion, Ohio (www.saltycritter.com). I live 150 miles away from the Salty Critter and have found that the trip is well worth the travel time. Good luck.
Stay calm. Your tank will eventually cycle past the red slim algae. Until then, increasing water movement on the affected area and adding sand shifting critters will help.
Would appreciate a recommendation of a copper test where the test results (color changes) are easier to read. I am currently using Fastest. Thank you, john
