Thanks for the info, the light assembly is centered on the tank. It is about 5 1/2 feet long 8-10" wide. I guess I need to take it apart and see if there is any wattage printed on the bulbs. really lights up the tank.

At the present I am unless I get information that I shouldn't. The person I got it from said they were 40w apiece.

I have a used light assembly. The guy I got it from said they were CF (compact florescents) regular bulbs. When I powered them on, two of the banks were a blueish color and the other two were regular white. Are the blue ones something special?

Forget to add in my original post that1/3 of the water was from the tank before the move. Maybe thats where the trites and trates came from. have maxima ro unit, will test the water from it, it was used , came with the tank. Might need new cartridges. will let you know

Put water in tank (129 gal) tested water. results: ph - 8.2 ammonia - 0.0 NO2 - .25 NO3 - 20 specific gravity - 1.024 Put in dead shrimp. when should i test again?

Just set up a tide pool 1 with SOS. It was used had to order new control rod assembly and siphon tube. Making it work with old stuff though. Seems to be running great. took a little tinkering with external control valve to get flow right.

New tank up and running. When can live rock be added. LR has been in 29 gal tank for 5 weeks. Came out of the 129 gal when moved.

I had read on this board awhile back that you either go with little lsb or no sand or 4-5" lsb. Don't remember the exact reason for the 1/2" except less maitenance. Wish I could remeber more, thats why i threw the question out there to see what you all thought.

I am starting with a 1/2" layer of LS for my new reef tank any comments pro or con?

Your husband has some good training, I do it as a hobby. We have a couple of stores one in Niceville, Aqauriums and More and another good one in FT. Walton Beach called Fish Biz. They can't get any LS but seem to be knowledgable.

btw I am in Niceville FL, just to the west of PC and one of my hobbies is scuba diving. :D
