Due to some strange almost uncanny circumstances (good and bad) that all hit me at once, I picking up and getting the hell out of dodge within the next few months. I will be shutting down the tank withing the next few weeks. I will miss you guys.

There is multiple products that you can add to your tank and many diffrent ways to manage your tank. It is best to keep it simple. I normally just drip Calcium Hydroxide and do water changes. Read up on the message board. If you start with a good book it will save you alot of headaches.

Your Ph is perfectly fine and acceptable. I dont have any experience with seachem products but I belive it is a sugar based Ca. If it works to raise your calcium levels I wouldnt see any harm in it, but I would recomend using Calcium cloride to raise your Ca where you want it and drip Calcium...

4 isnt a good number. 5 and 3 is a good number. Something about the dominent pecking order. I dont know if they will school together. I would thing they would be more likely to school in larger odd numbers of each type.

some people are just not cut out to even try a saltwater tank. They usally fall multiple time when trying to put pants on in the morning.

use the 4 foot bulbs. The cost isnt that much for the length of the bulbs and you get more light. The cooling fans dont take up room. They are often times mounted below the lights. Check out some canopy designs and you will be able to fuigure it out.

I use a hagen 802 it has more than enough power for what your looking for. Also a 5/8 OSD tubing fits nicely into the output. You can probobly get by with a 402.

You said your Ca is at 180. It takes alot of neglect for it to drop that low without suplementing anything at all. Not saying that that is the culprit for the dieoff, But without doing waterchanges trace elements are depleted. You cant expect things to thrive in tankwater that has been...
