    Finally! Website Updated...

...at least until last August anyway. I'm working on the last four months as we speak but since I was already a whole YEAR behind, I thought it best if I just put up what I had and play catch-up from here. Not suprisingly, it's a pretty massive update with over 200 new pictures and, based on...

    My Website Is Updated!!! (Finally)

...Yeah, 'bout time, I know. But for those who care, this one IS a big one: lots of new text (covers Feb. '03-Oct. '03, including last summer's Crystal Sea/ Instant Ocean crisis) and nearly 100 new pictures! So please stop by when you have the time. I'd appreciate your thoughts. www.moyesreef.com

Anyone Ever Hear Of A Majano Crash?!?

I don't want to mislead anyone: The 'rtn' here appears to be an isolated incident. Everything else seems fine...so far. But the disappearance of the Majanoes is a new one on me. And apparently, it's new to most others too.

Anyone Ever Hear Of A Majano Crash?!?

To give here everyone a little backstory, this has NOT been one of my better Christmases, reefwise. Early Christmas morning, I awoke to discover that one of my oldest and largest acros has begun to 'rtn' for no apparent reason. The timing of this crisis made my wife understandibly upset as we...

OT but anyone check out the LUNAR Eclipse going on at the very moment.

This series was taken with the digital equivalent of a 900mm lens. The final image is totality; the legendary Blood Moon, taken at a much slower shutter speed.

    Adding Anthias To Anthias

Over the years my shoal of Bartletts and Bicolor Anthias have dwindled from 11 and 6 to 6 and 0. The remaining 6 Barletts are pretty large and 'tank-wise'. Therefore, I've been advised that adding new and (no doubt) smaller Bartletts to the shoal would cause most them to be killed. True? How...

    New Crosshatch Won't Eat

Success!!! A 'combo plate' of chopped fresh shrimp and Cyclop-eeze finally did the trick. And what's almost as good is that I didn't even have to leave the house to get this stuff since, coincidentally, my wife had just bought the shrimp as appitizers to serve a few of her friends who came by...

    New Crosshatch Won't Eat

Got this 4" Crosshatch by MO yesterday and it came in with a pretty sunken belly (hopefully you can see it in the attatched image). Don't know whether this has reached the muscular stage yet but so far, the fish has not eaten this mornings offering of PE Mysis (soaked in Selcon) and Formula...

What do you feed your fish????

Formula One, Formula Two, Prime Reef, Enriched Brine, Special VHP, PE Mysis, Nori (soaked in Selcon), JhemCo's Spirulina Flakes, Cyclop-Eeze, Gracillaria, and whatever 'pods and such they can glean from the refugium.... ...but not all at the same time. :)

    Cyclop-eze

I've been using it awhile now, about three times a week. Both my Chromis and Anthias behave like children under the pinata at a birthday party. I'm also sure it's being taken up by some of the 'Lps' corals as well. In fact, the only negative I've ever heard about this stuff is, if you have...

AT LAST!!! New Tank Images!!! (Graphics Intensive)

Well, after a major fragging and overhaul last spring, a major problem (CS/IO) last summer, a major hurricane, and a major blackout, I am finally at the point with the tank where I can pick up a camera again. Not completely finished yet (who ever is) but for the first time in a while, I can say...
