I have been considering getting this coral but i have only seen it in stores a few times. Any information on this coral,or advice given from experience would be great.also any pics would be great. thanx

most people say this coral lasts only about 6 months in captivity. i hv one for about 3 months now, and its doing awesome. goniopora will do well with medium light and flow. i hv mine on the sandbed. if u hv a clownfish, i wouldnt get it since the fish will irritate it.

I have one. I have had it for about 5 months and it was doing beautiful. It is going downhill and the flesh is pealing off. I feel horrible and I would not recommend getting one. They do not last very long. When it was doing well it was very aggressive to anything that was anywhere near it. I will never get one again.

their natural habitat is in turbid and muddy water. They slowly starve in marine aquariiums. Yes, 6 months is the typical lifespan in an aquarium. Enjoy yours now because, unfortunately, it will be around for only a few more months.

I havent gotten one yet but now im not sure if i want one. thanx for the advice. i wish they lasted longer, they are soooo cool.

I only got about three months out of mine. It must have been in the store for three. Stay away from them and leave them in the wild. I have never seen one live. Maybe if you ran a very dirty reef it would work, but nothing else would like that.

Try a encrusting gonipora, the are hardier and come in a variety of colors. I have a pinkish/red one that is doing great. They grow pretty quick to. I feed them coral frenzy

its not a guarantee a clown will bother it. but if one has one, there is a chance. i used to hv one when i started out in the hobby, and my clown killed it. i got another one 2-3 months ago, and my clowns havent bothered it.

so the future of this thing is for the most part death in a few months.
i would say its 2 months in my tank.
any pointers to keep it living?
