i thought i was buying cheato, but its not.. it looks more like the red kelp grape? but its green.. is that fine to use instead of cheato?

It will house pods..but the thing with cheato is that it doesnt need to root itself to grow...I think that might need to be placed in rocks or sand...maybe stick some rubble in the soapdish to try and plant it

i dont really want it to grow...i bought two cups of it and i know the guy so i got more like four cups ... but it will still house copepods... so do i really need it to grow?
will it still absorb phosphates and nitrates? ty
but if it needs to grow i will put some sand in there from the sandbed

I think it should still house pods..its just if the roots dont plant i think it will die...I am not sure though.
