1.5 in long Mandarin at LFS

There's a 1.5 in long mandarin at my LFS. His stomach is a little sunken in,but I asked for a feeding demonstration and he ate. I didn't get him, because I want to know if he will survive in my 29gal. biocube. I have a Scooter Blenny, but he eats frozen foods.I have the back area of my nano where the bioballs used to be empty, with 3lbs of live rock, some macro/cheato grass, and a culture of tigger pods. Is this enough to sustain a small mandarin?
Thanks, Blake
P.S. Should I set up another 5 gal. refuguim to culture pods in?

in my opinion, no. there just wont be enough to sustain one for long, especially with a scooter blenny.

its generally a bad Idea. the occasional success stories dont come near to equaling the amount of stories of "my mandarin starved to death" the only way I could see it working is if you know for a fact it will eat prepared foods and there is no competition. meaning they eat very slowly so anyother sfish is going to get the majority of the food and the mandarin will starve even slower because it may get some once in a while. if your dumping enough food in there for the mandarine to get its fill (they eat constantly and all day long) then its going to die from poor water quality. I say the chance for sucess is about 2%
