i was wondering if a 50/50 coral life bulb would be enfough light to support soft coral in a 10 gal nano

not at all! on that tank you would do good with two 32 watt 10000k's, and two 15 watt actinics.

they sell power compacts for 10 gallons, but for a 100 bux. i think they are worth every penny.
