Mine cost me $40 total including the tank and glass I had cut. You might be able to cut some $ off by switching to acrylic but I'm not sure. Here's a diagram of my tank and the baffles I made. These are not completely to scale...just a rough diagram. If you need any explanations of why I have the baffles where they are just let me know. I really did not want bubbles in the return so this is why there are so many.

Shoreliner,
Me again! Why the different heights of glass dividers? How did you get sheets of glass to cut to fit? My 10Gallon nano doesn't have overflow piping. Can I still do a refuge or is it not recommended for a 10G nano? How do you maintain a lower water level in the last section of the fuge where the return pump is? I know its a lot of questions, but I'm wondering is it worth the trouble for a 10G nano. Thanks a bunch.

the different glass dividers make sure there are no bubbles getting into your refugium and retun pump.
To make them you can get already cut sheets of glass or acrylic at your hardware store, or you can guy tank dividers.
If you tank isnt drilled for an overflow then you will need a HOB overflow box. Im going to make one soon, just working out the plans. But you might want to paint the back of your tank cause they are bulky, and will look realy big on a 10 gallon. Or you can get a HOB refugium. They have one made by Aqua C. A refuge is good for all tanks, so jsut because yours is small, doesnt mean it wouldnt do any good. It will acutaly do better because it will give you a lot more water volume as well as the standard benitifs.
The last space has a lower water level because of the pump or powerhead that is pumping water back into your tank.

Fishieness' is right about the baffles. To determine the measurements for the tank I simply measure my return pump and then measured out everything else to my liking. In my tank there are 1 inch spacing between the glass pains. This should be ample room for whatever pump you'd want to put in there. The hang on back route is good to. A little more carefree for a small tank imo. I have one of the cpr aquafuges on my 10gal and it works great. It is about $120 though. The 19" one works great, holds about 3.5gallons and takes up about the whole length of the tank.

if you serch around online i have found the 19" one for as low as $88.95. I was looking into one of those, but decided i want to make one instead. Youd have more water volume with a larger refuge, but if its only a 10 gallon tank, an extra 3.5 would be a good step.
