100gpd RO/DI unit. Will the water saver kit work on this.

Check out my new toy. Its a 5 stage 100gpd RO/DI unit. Now my question is that there are 75gpd water saver kits that are supposed to double your output and cut down on the waste if you have a 75gpd RO unit but mine is a 100gpd. Will that kit still work? Im guessing if I did do it to run it through the 100gpd membrane first and then through the 75gpd since the rejection rate on the 75gpd is better. Will this work? Trying to get the best out of my unit while saving on the water bill. The guys at Filter Guys and bulk reef supply werent to sure
. Thanks

I have a 75 gpd I love it. BUt anyway in theory i would say yes i think it would work. Unless your 100gpd is runing 100% then there SHOULD be no good AQUARIUM water coming out your waste line. At least thats what i understand about them. The white color tube is for the excess water that is mostly just chemicals. So idk really i guess if you have a buddy or something with a 75 its worth a try anyway.

i could be wrong but, if you run the water through the 100 gpd membrane and then through another 75 gpd membrane you would be wasting more water better to just go with the 75 gpd membrane and leave it at that

Totally off topic. You probably should get something to cover that outlet with. Evey now and then, connections leak and when you have to change the filters there is gonna be some sloshing of water from those canisters.

well the waste water will run through the second membrane which would be less waste. Not sure though if I can mix the membranes gpd
I noticed the outlet also after I connected it. I will head to HD for a cover

Really no idea if it will work, but curious as to why the concern over it? Are you filtering that much water to make a difference?

Its not that I am filtering that much water, its the waste. I want to be able to make my own water but I dont want to spend more money than what I would pay at the LFS. I just made a batch today and kept the waste water for laundry but I dont have that much laundry as its only my son and I. I heard that 2 membranes produce a lot less waste water.

I'm not sure. I have two 75gpd membranes and I noticed a good reduction in wasted water. The only thing I can say is try it one way with the 100gpd first and then vice versa and see if it makes a difference. It's easy to swap the lines with those kind of fittings.
