10g nano tank

Hi guys I was bored on friday so I decided to set up a nano reef tank with extra parts I had. I made a little canopy and mounted 2 65w pc's in it. This was a chore because the lights were to long to mount in the canopy. So buy the pic you can see what I did. I'm experminting with some ideas with this tank. I use silica sand in the bottom seeded with ls from my display tank. This is to see if silica sand will cause diatoms to bloom bad. Not sure how much lr is in the tank. I took a few pieces of it from my main tank and a few dry pieces from an old set up. We will see how everything goes. Give me some feed back please.

I was thinking of the same kind of "retrofit" for my 5.5G! I figured I could squeeze in a 96W quad... hehe. Looks good so far Slick, keep us updated.

Thanks guys, Lebowski the lights are standard 65w pc's they were to long to fit over my tank so I had to have them hang out the side. Sammy I didn't think silica sand would cause diatoms but I thought I would see for myself.
