Let it sit overnight. All the heavier sand will sink to the bottom. Its perfectly normal when setting up a new tank.
Do you have any power heads on currently? Turning them off may help the sand settle a little quicker.

When all the sand has setteled can i take out the dead snails and stuff ""didnt die in the tank"" and vacume the dirt off the surface ???????????

Iam adding live tock next week
Sould i do a water change ?

no reason to do water changes until you start addin livestock

It is much to early to do a water change, or add livestock. You must make sure your tank properly cycles before taking things to the next step. Puting your LR in would be fine.

Ok but there is a flim of dirt on the glass and the sand is coverd in a thin layer of dirt
When i put my hand in and stir it a bit i can see the real sand colour :notsure:

The tank has cleared but still the film every where :D

The tank has now cleared but the Bottom is covered in dirt "i want to vacume it off" :rolleyes:
Do you think i could ? and can i take the dead snail shells out ??
So happy getting LR on Fri 13

i would leave everythign as is. dont touch the shells your hermits will need them later....dont do any water changes till your done with you cycle.

I have anouther question
my LFS guy told me i dont need a filter or protien skimmer BUT Why when i look at the top of my tank do i see dirt every where on top of the water just floating there Will it clear up when i do water changes later or will the live rock help :help:
Kind'a Worried :scared:

haha you worry to much .... :p
if you put more flow to the surface to break the surface and throw a skimmer on there it will be gone.. but IMO it's nothing you need to worry about ATM

i am going to get a skimmer on my 20, no matter what ive done with flow its not as clean as i want it.... bakpak2 being bid on right now...
dude on auctionsite that rhymes with ehay from nor cal offered me a second chance buy at 80 bucks, but i didnt have the moeny at the time, now i do. grr
