10g Rebuild

I have several 10 gallon tanks. I want to take apart one and reassemble it so it is a 10 gallon high. What is the best way to reseal the tank?

I was planning to use silicone or locktite.
Should I glue the bottom of the tank to the new frame for more stability?
thanks,

From what I have seen with all of the tanks that I have the bottom is not at the bottom of the glass. The sides, front, and back extend past the floor of the tank. If this is the case with your 10 Gallon then chances are something is not going to line up right. Unless of course you have multiple tanks that you are willing to take apart and possibly mix and match it to work.
Have you made a frame for the new one? If you have you would want to glue that on as the last step. I don't think it has much structural value in a 10 gallon but I could be wrong.
If I were you I would use the bottom picture if you can do that. That one would look the nicest.
What are you using this tank for?

The tank will be for dwarf seahorses(ponies). Seahorses need height more than length.I have several 10g and had planned to use the best parts to get the end result of the 3rd drawing.
I have not made a base frame yet.
I have some info from a very old thread from online here...forget who built the 200, but the pictures really helped.

Sounds like it should turn out pretty cool. Like I said I would just make sure that the dimensions of the different pieces of glass are going to allow them to butt up in the corners right. Otherwise you might end up with just a bunch of sheets of glass and nothing to do with them. Two of the sides may either be too short or too long. Meaning that they might not reach the corners or you will have a little bit of overhang on the corners.
As for sealing the pieces of glass together I know nothing about that. If this project works right you should let me know how sealing the glass works for you. I am kind of looking to build a custom nano in the near future.
Good Luck

Quick question~
These are 2 ways of gluing the tank together. I think the one on the left is better and will be stronger? Yes..No?
