Ok, I am setting up a 10g nano with a 10g fuge. My 10g that will be the DT is goin to be sitting right next to the 10g fuge/sump. My question is how should I get the water outa my DT and into my sump/fuge and vise versa?? I was thinking of useing my 2 low flow phs , by putting one in each tank and running some plastic tubing into each,........one ph will pump water into the sump/fuge and the other ph in the sump/fuge will pump water into the DT........do you guys think this will work?? I cant seem to get the plastic tubing to bend and stay where I need it too......any suggestions??? thanks

Personally I would setup a siphon type of system for your tens. Having one powerhead pump in, and one pump back out, it's just a flood waiting to happen, what if one of your pumps fails...what's the other one going to do...keep on pumpin. also it would be easier to equalize the water depth on each tank. In the tank that will not be the display tank, what will it be for??? Refugium. if so, then you may consider getting one of those metal stands that holds two tens, one on top and one on the bottom, and set up a sump/refugium with an overflow and return pump...much more effecient, and very easy to do. Also ever think of using a float switch as a fail safe for either setups that you may think of doing. Also, if you do an over and under setup, do not , and I repeat do not forget your anti siphon holes...major failsafe there. HTH:yes:

it's extremely difficult to match 2 pumps exactly.. the one pumping down willhave no head.. and the one pumping up will have a few feet.. it won't work... get an overflow.

The 2 tanks would be at the same level......on the same stand on the same board...there will be llike 2" of head on the pump in both tanks, the phs are the exact same, i bought them at the same time an everything. I am guessing you misunderstood what I said up above.....its ok it happens........I think I am just goin to put one up on my 30g stand when I take it down, and put my other 10g on the floor, or on the bottom shelf of my 55g stand which is a like 3in away from the 30g stand..........I guess I will be getting a pump for it then........oh well .......I tried...thanks anyway

if the tanks ar going to be level with each other you could conect them with bulkheads and a union or something and just pump water into one and will just flow through to the other tank.:)

Thats actually one of the things I thought about, but I would have to have someone do it, I dont know if the glass is tempered or not, if it is it will shatter as soon as me or someone else starts to drill it..................... I think that would be pretty cool though,.......if it worked........

A local glass shop could probalby drill it for you. I liked the bulkead idea, very simple and clean looking.
I don't have a filter in my 7g nano, butI do have a fuge and sump.

It's not extremely difficult, its impossible. If it's off by a cup over the period of a day, it would overflow in about a week.
