i am looking at doing a 10 gal
i would like to keep clams
what kinda lighting is needed and where can i get it

check out the variety of 10 gallon nano's posted here.
check out brooklyn johnny's 10 gallon he has some clams.
You will need to feed most clams as well as light the tank properly.
THere are several quality lighting sources - do a search for aquarium lighting ....

i choose the 96 watt PC by custom sealife,
read all the "run downs" that the nano members have been posting, that should give you a good idea of what we are using. good luck to you.
